FAQ's

What is visible mending?
Visible mending is the practice of repairing damaged clothing or fabric in a way that enhances its appearance, rather than hiding the damage. It’s an artistic approach to sustainability, where mended areas are highlighted with decorative stitches, patches, or embroidery. This method celebrates the repair process and extends the life of your garments.
What is Sashiko?
Sashiko is a traditional Japanese embroidery technique that uses simple running stitches to create beautiful patterns. Originally used for functional purposes, like reinforcing fabric, Sashiko has evolved into an art form, often seen in decorative motifs on clothing and home textiles. The technique is known for its precision, geometric patterns, and the symbolic meaning embedded in the designs.
What are Embroidery & Sashiko Mash-up products?
Our Embroidery and Sashiko Mash-up products blend the detailed, structured nature of Sashiko with the creative freedom of contemporary embroidery. These designs combine elements of both techniques, allowing you to create unique, one-of-a-kind mends or projects that reflect both traditional craftsmanship and bold imagery, reinterpreting classic techniques in a fresh, modern way.
How to use the Stick N' Stitch Printed Patterns?
-
Cut the Pattern:
Cut the appropriate size for your mending project. Each sheet is single-use, but you don't have to use the entire sheet for your project. Peel and stick sheet directly on area you want to mend. -
Follow the Guide:
Use the running stitch and dashes on the pattern as your guide for stitching. This will help you maintain consistency and create a neat, professional-looking repair. -
Wash Away the Adhesive:
Once your mend is complete, wash away the adhesive transfer. For best results, use a washing machine or warm water with laundry detergent or soap. Please note that this product is not suitable for fabrics that cannot be washed. -
Dry Your Garment:
After washing, dry your garment as usual, either by machine drying or air drying.
